I am in love with… Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm

I go through makeup fazes where I love to wear certain things. Sometimes I love bold eyes, and Ill wear every crazy color, other times a simple coat of mascara does me good. Same thing with my lips, I will sometimes go for all the bright bold colors, and other times, I will want close to nothing on them. I have been going through a more long term naked lippy faze, and have preferred lip balm, gloss or lipstick with more muted color. One day I picked up one of the Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balms and the next day… I owned them all.

They are the perfect hint of color to complete any look, and they are so creamy and moisturizing and smell delicious! With lip loving nourishing oils and natural waxes such as coconut oil, olive oil, shea butter and jasmine wax; your lips will love you long time for using these amazing balms!

The swatch picture below does not do these balms ANY justice, as they are on pasty white skin in terrible lighting. But to give you an idea on how sheer and beautiful they are, I attempted…

From the bottom up- Honeysuckle (Peachy Coral), Caramel Daisy (Nude), Petunia (Soft Pink), Red Dahlia (Brown Red), Hibiscus (Peachy Red), Pink Blossom (Pink) , Sweet Violet (Plum Pink), Rose (Red), Blush (Light Nude Pink), Tiger Lily (Nude Peach Coral).

I strongly recommend going out and trying one of these lovely Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balms, I doubt that you will be disappointed!

cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, olus (vegetable oil, huile vegetale), cera alba (beeswax, cire d’abeille), olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, candelilla cera (euphorbia cerifera wax, cire de candelilla), helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, aroma (flavor)*, lanolin, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, cananga odorata flower wax, jasminum officinale (jasmine) flower wax, ammonium glycyrrhizinate, tocopherol, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, glycine soja (soybean) oil, canola oil (huile de colza). Silk Naturals Loose Mineral Eye Shadows

silknaturals logo

silk naturals

I have not done many makeup reviews thus far, mainly because I have been loaded with so many amazing skincare products, and I am a skincare junkie; but I just had to write about this one!  I was introduced to Silk Naturals through my fellow Green Beauty Bloggers, and whilst calmly browsing through the site I found my self drawn to purchasing a large slew of shadows! I am really happy I did because these shadows are so unbelievably beautiful! They are so affordable and gorgeous that it makes it easy to make the switch to Natural! The Loose Mineral Shadows retail for $4.50 and come in 5 gram jar of goodness.

Another thing to mention is that the customer service was personal, speedy and wonderful; that makes such a great difference to me! They also give a little gift with every order!
I ordered mostly neutral tones since I seldom go bold with my eye makeup, and I seriously love them all! You can use them wet or dry; wet for bold color and dry for a more subtle wash. Keep in mind that the below pictures were the shadows dry, look at the amazing bold color! The pictures below give the shadows no justice! They are so gorgeous and I could not seem to capture their beauty in a picture!

All colors listed from bottom to top!

1.  Shell (Matte Nude) , Sinner (Gold Shimmer), Blessings (Dark Green Copper Shimmer), Mazel Tov (Shimmer Light Gold) , Silhouette (Matte Brown) , Miss you (Light Tan Matte) , Kickstart (Grey Shimmer Bronze)

2. Bonanza (Twinkling Gold Silver), Colt (Deep Brown Suede), Forgery (Purple Chocolate Shimmer), Earth (Taupe Shimmer), Race (Teal Blue Shimmer)

3. Lake (Grey Blue Shimmer), Cutie Pie (Light Matte Tan), Tru Luv (Rose Brown Matte), Exposed (Tan Matte), Loop (Pink Purple Gold Shimmer), Goddess (Cream Shimmer)

If you love the colors but are not one for loose shadow because you consider it messy? Remember to poke only 2-3 of the holes so you can control the amount that comes out more effectively! I recommend using them with an eyeshadow primer to increase pigment, lasting power and prevent creasing. I truly recommend trying these gorgeous shadows. With so many choices, from matte to shine finish and bold and neutral colors, you will for sure find some that you love! These are a staple in my daily makeup, and I am going to keep ordering more and more! I simply love them!!!

Bailey Blush Beauty Blurb #8

Have you ever put on the perfect, bright and beautiful red lip, just to notice that a few minutes without a mirror has led to a migration of red all over your face? Ya me too… Pretty well every time I wear a red lip. Here are some tips to help and prevent this very unflattering case of the red lippy migration.

1. Apply a red lip liner around lip contours and all over your lips.
2. Apply the red lipstick all over lips and blot, repeat this step twice.
3. After blotting for the 2nd time, take a very fine milled loose powder on a fluffy powder brush. Use a very small amount of loose powder and gently roll over top of the lips.

These 3  simple steps will help ensure your red or dark colored lip will stay in place!

Suki Eye Repair Balm

After the skin on my face and body had shribbled up from the bitter dry and cold weather, soon enough did my delicate eye area. It became so tight and itchy, and the occasional eczema I get on my neck and corner of my eyes came back.
I was using a few different eye creams and remedies that soothed while on the eyes, but when I washed them away I found the eczema and dryness still there.

Thank heavens I had just been given the Suki eye repair balm.

This eye balm is a melt in your fingers dream treatment for the eyes. It’s starts as a balm but when warmed in between the fingers turns into a smooth oil. The ingredients in the eye balm are extra rich and soothing to nourish and smooth the skin. The base of Beeswax, jojoba, and coconut oil ensure maximum hydration and soothing. Carrot rich in Vitamin A provides smoothing antioxidant protection and evening primrose rich in omega oil and fatty acids nourishes skin.

I have tried other oils and balms for the eyes and never found them to be sufficient hydration, this balm was great hydration without being heavy or irritating. After one use of the Suki eye repair balm, my eczema and dryness were significantly diminished and soothed. Over one week the eczema was gone, dryness non existent and my fine lines were softened.

I would recommend this eye balm to anyone experiencing the above concerns (eczema, dryness, aging concerns) or anyone with intolerant or sensitive eyes.

Use in the evening time preferably and during the day if you are not wearing makeup.

Rose Water and Vegetable Glycerine

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

By now you probably have come to know that I am slightly obsessed with anything Rose. I love Rose because it is the ultimate symbol of beauty and love and has endless benefits for health and beauty. I think that the Rose and it’s amazing properties should be in every woman’s beauty and health regimen.
Here are a few amazing benefits of the Rose.
Moisturizing, Anti inflammatory, Antioxidant rich, Astringent and is a natural perfume!

I am currently using Multiple Rose infused products but I wanted to talk about my Pure Rose water and vegetable glycerine duo. There are many Rose Water and Glycerine products out there, so I thought I would try to make my own concoction. I purchased pure Cortas Rose water and Wow vegetable glycerine. Both great products, and the rose water smells divine!!!! Glycerine is also one of the most moisturizing ingredients you can use on your skin.
I just place a small drop of glycerine on a cotton pad with a splash of rose water and place it on my skin after cleansing. I use circular motions for gentle exfoliation, and for deeper penetration of the glycerine. My skin afterwards is pleasantly soft and comfortable, I do not find a need to use a moisturizer afterwards, but it would be fine if that is your fancy!

Jurlique Rose Silk Finishing Powder

This will be my first kind-of makeup review. I begin with Jurlique, a company from Australia that makes wonderful natural skincare with bio dynamically grown ingredients. The Jurlique Rose Silk finishing powder is essentially a translucent face powder. What makes this product unique and really great is the fact that it is infused with tons of skin nourishing ingredients, such as Witch Hazel, Calendula, Daisy flower and glycerin etc. Therefore it is more of a skincare product than a makeup.

I used this product in 3 different ways. The first was underneath my powder mineral foundation, over top my moisturizer and liquid foundation. I usually use a translucent powder underneath my mineral foundation to ensure I have no excess oil that may change the color of the foundation or make it cakey. I used the Jurlique Rose Finishing powder as such and noticed immediately how softened my complexion appeared. It is so finely milled and feels so soft, my complexion was totally airbrushed, I did not even need my mineral powder foundation over top! After I did apply my mineral foundation, it looked flawless, actually! My complexion was radiant for the entire day, and it did not give me a totally matte look, which I am happy about. I secondly tried it underneath my mineral foundation and over top. This result was more matte than the first, obviously, because I applied it twice. I also found that my makeup was literally untouched 12 hours in, I typically see fading in 6-8hrs, so that was a pleasant surprise! Lastly, I applied it simply on its own for my day off face (almost no makeup, except for the necessities so people don’t think I am ill) and it was perfect! Right overtop of my moisturizer, it diffused pore size, redness and took away all shine. It also kept my skin fresh looking for almost the entire day. I will recommend not to over apply because although it is translucent, if you over do it you will have a slight white residue.

The container is also wonderful especially if you want to throw it in the purse for touch ups, and comes with a high quality pouf! You can use a big round brush to apply too. As an added bonus,  it has lavender and rose essential oil, so it smells delicious for an overall beautiful experience.
